D.I.Y. or die…trying!
My name is Nikola. I come from Croatia. I’m a primary school teacher and I’m also a musician, producer, songwriter, 100% independent artist. REGIFTER is my latest D.I.Y. project in which I did all by myself: writing lyrics, composing music, playing all of the instruments, singing all vocals, producing, arranging, recording, mixing, mastering & promoting. I did it all in my tinyHOMEStudio which I built from scratch.. In the future I hope I will write for other artists. Meanwhille, I will keep on making music for my own project and thus build my own catalog. Thank You very much for Your time and support. Cheers!
I love poetry both as a reader and as a poet. In addition to lyrics for my songs, I also like to write haiku and experimental poetry.
Music is my second nature. I have been surrounded by music since early childhood. I love listening, playing and creating music equally!
I love recording sessions. As a player and as a recording engineer too. My tinyHOMEStudio is a place where all my passions come together.
During my elementary school years, I attended private PIANO lessons, SANG in the Children’s Church Choir, played in the Town Brass Band and in the High School Band a bit later. So I was introduced to the classical repertoire quite early.
In addition, I was involved in over 20 bands and music projects, most of which performed original songs, and a few of them played covers.
Two of them had a Major Label Deal and the rest were Heavy Underground!
That’s where I got acquainted with the rock repertoire. That means everything from punk, hard core, metal, crossover, ska, power pop, blues, all the way to country & pop.
I started at the age of ten as a DRUMMER in my brother’s punk band. I continued drumming in several local bands until one of them needed a BASS PLAYER. So I took on that role and to this day the bass remains my instrument of choice. For a while I played in a local studio as a session musician (BASS & KEYS).
I received my basic formal music education and music theory at the university. I improved my PIANO playing there and I also SANG in the Student Choir. I am a self-taught GUITAR player and beginner TRUMPET player too.
And I am also a big time RECORDING STUDIO enthusiast. I assembled my tinyHOMEStudio from scratch. I record, mix and master all my songs there.
